Databending is the manipulation of data in a programme that is not originally suited to work with this kind of information. A sound file can be manipulated in photoshop, a picture can be opened in a sound programme and so on. These actions can lead to very surprising, original and often beautiful effects. Here are a few examples of databending I have been using in projects in the past.
